life, & death, at 40

Rain drops on flowers and leaves and cacti are remarkable. I was mesmerised by some just this morning. Plops of silver mercury sitting on a vast cactus just looking amazing. More were held in the petals of a rather coarse yellow daisy, holding the plump drops for hours before they fell. But no self-respecting blogger would publish flowers and raindrops and ever expect to be taken seriously again (did you ever?). So I present you this insect, earth-bound by the very wings that should have saved it, pulling and wriggling and fighting to free itself from the final, remaining one that refuses to let go.
